New Requirement To Reconfirm Your JobSaver Eligibility

If you are currently receiving JobSaver, you will need to reconfirm your eligibility each fortnight starting from 13 September 2021 till the duration of the program.

Note September payments will continue even if you do not confirm eligibility. However, any payments after that will only be processed once eligibility is confirmed.

What you need to reconfirm

Each fortnight, you will need to reconfirm to Service NSW that you:

  • continue to experience a decline in turnover of 30% or more; and

  • have maintained your employee headcount stated per your original JobSaver application, unless the employee is no longer employed due to circumstances outside of your control, such as resignation, death or where you have fairly terminated the employee because of misconduct.

If you do not reconfirm, your payments will automatically cease.

Delaying reconfirmation

You can delay your reconfirmation if, for example, you need to finalise your month-end accounting records.

Your MyServiceNSW Business Profile will show you the fortnights for which confirmation is still required & will allow you to reconfirm for multiple fortnights in one go.

Confirming your decline in turnover

You will not need to provide any additional evidence or attach any documentation when reconfirming your eligibility.

  • You’ll need to maintain adequate records to show evidence of your eligibility in the event of an audit

  • If your business is closed due to restrictions or is still experiencing a decline in turnover of 30% or more. In that case, you can complete the reconfirmation process by indicating that you still meet the decline in turnover requirement

  • The person that submitted the initial application is required to submit the reconfirmation of eligibility.

Businesses eligible for some fortnights and not others

  • As eligibility will be reconfirmed each fortnight, some businesses may be eligible one fortnight and not eligible the next fortnight if your decline in turnover decreases again

  • Becoming ineligible for one fortnight does not disqualify a business from becoming eligible again in a future fortnight where they meet the eligibility conditions.

Calculating your decline in turnover

There are three potential options you can use to calculate your decline in turnover. Still, whichever method you use, you will need to use the same method for each subsequent fortnight when reconfirming your eligibility for future payments.

Option 1: Same year, corresponding fortnight

If your initial comparison period was in 2019 or 2020 per your original JobSaver application, you must use the same year when you confirm your eligibility. In short, calculate the decline in turnover by comparing the turnover for the current fortnight against the turnover for the same period in 2019 or 2020 (Note you must use the same year as the initial Jobsaver application either 2019 or 2020)

For example:

  • In your initial JobSaver application, you compared 26 July to 8 August 2019 with 26 July to 8 August 2021

  • To confirm your eligibility, compare 13 September to 26 September 2019 with 13 September to 26 September 2021.

 

Option 2: Same year, same comparison fortnight

Option 2 allows the use of the same comparison fortnight in 2019 or 2020 you used in your initial JobSaver application. In short, calculate the decline in turnover by comparing the turnover for the current fortnight against the turnover for the fortnight in 2019 or 2020 used in your initial application.

For example:

  • In your initial JobSaver application, you compared 26 July to 8 August 2019 with 26 July to 8 August 2021

  • To confirm your eligibility, compare 26 July to 8 August 2019 with 13 September to 26 September 2021.

 

Option 3: 12 June to 25 June 2021 as the comparison period

If 12 June to 25 June 2021 was your initial comparison period, you must use this same period when you confirm your eligibility. For example:

  • In your JobSaver application, you compared 12 June to 25 June 2021 with 26 July to 8 August 2021

  • To confirm your eligibility, you must compare 12 June to 25 June 2021 with 13 September to 26 September 2021.

  1. Log in to your MyServiceNSW Business Profile at https://mybusiness.service.nsw.gov.au/business-profile

  2. Follow the steps to reconfirm your eligibility.
